Autumn Must-Have Products 🍂

Autumn Is Finally Here!

Autumn is such a beautiful time of the year, and I absolutely love the atmosphere! The nights are longer, the air is crisper and clothes and makeup get a stunning overhaul. I’ve always been a cold person, so I love the excuse to wear chunky knitted cardigans, boots, and jeans for six months straight! It’s a great time to experiment with darker makeup too. I recently did a Vampy Makeup Tutorial which is the perfect makeup look for this time of year. I wrote this post because I wanted to create a roundup post of all my autumn must have products!

I’m going to focus on the must-have makeup and skincare products for this time of year. These are my staple items that I use again and again during the colder months. I love really treating my skin at this time of year and making the most of new products launched! These are products that I have been using and loving, and I hope you enjoy.

Let’s get started!

Lush Cosmetics Tea Tree Toner Water

I’ve been talking about this product quite a lot lately, and it’s definitely one to try if you haven’t already! I did write a full review which you can read if you want more details.

In a nutshell, this toner is great for balancing skin after cleansing, and helps reduce blemishes. As someone who suffers pretty badly from hormonal acne, I’m really loving this product. It helps reduce shine throughout the day too, which is what I’m looking for in a toner!

You can grab it from the LUSH Cosmetics website for £9.50, and you get a decent amount of product for your money, which is always a bonus!

The Ordinary 100% Plant-Based Squalane

Another great product, Squalane is an amazing moisturiser for the skin. This one from The Ordinary is 100% plant-based – you can get squalane from sharks I believe! But this one doesn’t involve harming any sharks thankfully.

It’s super hydrating, and I love it for this time of year. I’ve been using it for about a month, and I’ve noticed it’s really improving the texture of my skin. The area I’ve noticed the most improvement is around my eyes and on my cheeks. The dark circles under my eyes seem to much less pronounced which I’m loving! I’ve even had compliments from other people, which is a massive confidence boost!

You can grab it from ASOS for £5.50. The Ordinary really are amazing, and they are sooo cheap! I’m going to be doing a full review on all the skincare products I’ve been using of theirs real soon 🙂

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray

Setting spray is a really useful product, no matter what time of year it is! And I love this one from NYX. This was the first product of theirs that I tried, and I was really pleased with it. It genuinely does help your makeup look better throughout the day.

It’s also pretty good at refreshing my skin too, and if I’m feeling a bit cakey I might use a spritz of it later on in the day!

You can get NYX from ASOS, and the setting spray comes in either matte or dewy finish. You can grab the matte one that I use for £7.00.

GOSH Cosmetics X-Ceptional Wear Makeup

GOSH are one of my favourite brands, and I even did a brand spotlight on them this month because they really do deserve more attention than they get! They have some amazing products, and this foundation is no exception [see what I did there?].

I’ve talked about it before, because I genuinely love it! I’m so pale skinned, and this is one of the only foundations that is actually pale enough for me. It’s medium coverage, but is definitely buildable. It’s not too drying which is perfect for this time of year, when the weather and having the heating on can cause skin to dry out!

I use a beauty blender copycat from Real Techniques to apply my foundation, which you can grab here. It’s only £5.99 which is quite a bit cheaper than what you’d pay elsewhere for a beauty blender.

Superdrug stock GOSH, and you can get this foundation for £7.99! A complete bargain!

GOSH Cosmetics Natural Blush

Another great product from GOSH; their natural blush in Rose Whisper is perfect for any skin tone during the autumn months. It gives a beautiful, really subtle flush of pink which looks so pretty, especially with really natural makeup.

It’s completely matte which I prefer for blush and it’s such a pigmented product. You hardly need to use any of it and it lasts forever!

This blush is also £7.99, which is great for how long it lasts.

Lottie Translucent Powder

This is a new product for me, and I have to say I am really impressed with how it has been working out. When I use loose powder, I tip some of the product into the lid. It does appear chalky when you pour it out, and I wasn’t sure when I first got it that I was going to like it! Usually, I use a fluffy powder brush and pat it into my skin rather than sweep it on, and it doesn’t actually look chalky on the skin. I’ve been using it for the past couple of weeks, and will definitely use the rest of the pot!

I find that it really helps my makeup stay put all day, and I even use it to bake under my eyes, and it does a stand up job!

You can get Lottie from ASOS and this translucent powder is £5.50 which is such a good price!

L’Oreal Million Lashes So Couture Mascara

This mascara is the best one I’ve ever used, and I’ve tried quite a few over the years! It has all the best qualities – length, volume, and separation. It doesn’t ever clump on your lashes, and can be built to be quite dramatic.

I love dramatic mascara no matter what time of year it is, but it looks especially stunning the colder months. When your skin is less tanned and you’re wearing darker clothing, having dark, defined lashes is a really pretty look. I will sit and build up this mascara for quite a while, and you can do it because it doesn’t clump!

You can grab this mascara from Superdrug for £10.99!

China Glaze Nail Polish

This colour is literally stunning! It’s the shade Red-y and Willing and it’s perfect for this time of year. It’s really rich and bright, and is perfect alongside black skinny jeans and a chunky, knitted cardigan.

China Glaze are a new brand to me, but they do a great selection of nail polish colours. They’re quite runny and have very thin brushes, so you have to be precise with them. I’m not perfect at doing my nails myself, after nearly two years of having calgel! But I’m practising, and I’m definitely getting better!

I posted a picture on Instagram of me wearing this colour recently – I’d love to know what you think of it! Let me know in the comments below whether you like it or not. You can follow me on Instagram here: @laurajacquesaimhblog.

If you don’t know where to get nail polish from, you need to check out They do Essie and China Glaze, O.P.I, Nails Inc, and more, for a lot cheaper than what you will find them in normal shops!

Barry M Nail Polish

Another great nail polish shade for autumn, this one is from Barry M. The shade is called Blue Jade. It’s a really dark grey blue tone, and it’s really flattering, especially on shorter nails.

This is the kind of colour that can be worn with all different coloured clothes, and looks especially striking with white jeans.

I love the Gelly nail polishes, but they don’t last as well as the China Glaze. They are good for a couple of days, and the colour choices mean they’re one of the go to nail polish brands!

You can grab them from Superdrug, and you can get the Blue Jade colour for £3.99.
