New Makeup! August 2017 ❀

makeup haul - Revlon & MUA

I Love New Products ❀

Nothing gives me more joy than getting new makeup! I went into Superdrug on the way home and picked up a couple of new bits to try out 🙂

Revlon ColorStay Makeup – Combination/Oily £12.99

I wanted to give this foundation a try because it is formulated for my skin type. It claims to give a flawless finish and a lightweight feel.

I tried it out straight away when I got home. I used a flat, relatively stiff makeup brush to buff the foundation in, and then touched up slightly with a damp beauty blender. The one I use is this Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

Actually, I really like how the foundation feels on my skin. It genuinely is lightweight, and doesn’t really feel like you’re wearing any makeup at all. I don’t wear foundation day-to-day because I don’t like to look to heavily done up for work, but this one from Revlon is pretty subtle.

It gives medium coverage, and has a matte finish, which is great for my combination skin! The only trouble is that it’s maybe a bit dark for me. Looking at the bottle in the picture above, it seems impossible doesn’t it! But my skin is really pale, and once the foundation oxidises, it does seem a little too deep for me unfortunately.

I’ve been looking into it, and YouTuber @thataylaa does some great videos – check out this one about pale skin foundations 10 Best Foundations for VERY PALE SKIN! Drugstore and High End. I might have to give that Manic Panic white foundation a go to be honest, think it’d come in handy!!

MUA Pro-Base Prime & Conceal CC Cream in Green £3.00

This is a new one for me to try! I’ve heard a lot of good things about the green concealers – they are known to combat redness. I wanted to try one out for myself, and I love MUA products, so thought I’d go for it.

I used it around the edges of my nose, and on my eyelids where I suffer with some redness. It really did make a lot of difference to its appearance! I applied normal concealer over the top, and it certainly did improve the look of my skin as a whole.

I’ll definitely be using it more often!

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lip Colour in Sand £5.99

After wearing matte lipstick pretty much constantly over the past few months, I wanted to mix it up a bit!

Revlon have released these beautiful glossy lip colours, which come in all different nudes, pinks and reds. They glide on like heaven and I loved how they felt. Sometimes the glossy lipsticks can be sticky, but this one isn’t. It’s pleasant to wear, and certainly worth £5.99!

The only negative I would say is that it comes off pretty easily, so keep it handy for top ups 🙂

Revlon Mega Multiplier Mascara £9.99

This mascara is relatively new too. I have two current favourites – L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara So Couture in Black and Maybelline Lash Sensational in Intense Black. These are absolute staples of mine!

Check out my comparison here – Mascara Comparison: Save, Spend And Splurge!

I haven’t tried out this new Revlon one as of yet, and I’m excited to give it a go 🙂 The brush is really long and looks like it will reach to all of my lashes!

Keep your eyes out for my in-depth review coming soon 🙂

I hope you’ve enjoyed my new makeup haul! Let me know in the comments below if you’ve tried any of Revlon’s new products 🙂
