So this weekend I decided to go for a complete change, and dye my hair from blonde to brunette!
I’m naturally fair, but the blonde I’ve been isn’t my natural colour. It’s naturally a sort of dark blonde, and it’s kind of dull! I love dyeing my hair, and I’ve been quite a few different colours over the years.
When I was about 14, I started dyeing my hair black, and I stayed that way until I was about 19. I decided that I wanted to go back to blonde, and so I had it cut really short! I grew my hair back long, and it’s been blonde since then, to varying degrees.
However, I’ve been feeling a bit down lately, and I wanted a complete change. Sometimes it’s nice to have a transformation; it helps give me a boost!
This was what my hair looked like before:
I like the blonde, and it’s easy maintenance because it’s not too far from my natural colour! I’m quite pale too, and so it’s always a concern that the colour I choose will wash me out.
I have to choose a cool, ash blonde to make sure that I don’t look too washed out compared to the golden blonde!
This is what my hair looks like now:
I think the dark hair is a lot more striking, and people have said it makes my eyes stand out more too, which is lovely! Also, I think it matches my eyebrows better than the blonde.
I don’t think it does wash me out! I hope not anyway! The colour I chose is called Natural Golden Brown, from Nice and Easy, and I think the tone to it stopped me looking like a ghost!
You can get the colour here – Natural Golden Brown from Superdrug 🙂
What do you think looks best? Blonde or brunette? Let me know in the comments 🙂
