Peach Glow Makeup For Summer!

I love peach!

When it comes to the summer months, I like my makeup to look natural, fresh, and glowing. Don’t we all?! I aim to look as relaxed as possible, focusing on my skin rather than anything else. Nothing looks healthier than clear, fresh skin!

It’s not always that easy, due to my skin tending to break out when I’m hormonal [yay for periods…]. It’s all about prevention, and a good moisturiser! Look out for my post coming soon about how to deal with problem skin!

When it’s hot outside, our main concern is looking sun-kissed and healthy. Read my makeup routine to go from clean faced to peachy keen in a few simple steps!

Preparing your skin

The first thing I always do, if you’ve read any of my tutorial posts, is clean my skin with Nivea Micellar Cleansing Water. [£4.09] I just use cotton pads and sweep them over my skin.

This stuff is amazing. It’s so gentle, and actually works to remove makeup, grime and grease so easily! It doesn’t make my skin feel dry and tight like some cleansers do. Mascara comes right off too!

The next step is to use Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Acid Pads  [£5.99] which work to gently exfoliate your skin without any kind of physical exfoliant. They help your skin appear more radiant with regular use, and they are sooo cheap! You simply wipe the pads over your skin, and you’re done!

Finally, I use Manuka Doctor Facial Moisturising Lotion [£14.99] which is aaamazing for my oily skin! It’s soothing, helps keep in moisture, and helps prevent acne! Sometimes it can be difficult to find a gel based moisturiser that works well underneath makeup, but this one works perfectly well 🙂

Perfecting Your Base

Once I’ve let the moisturiser sink in, I apply concealer under my eyes, around the edges of my nose, and on any blemishes. I use an amazing one – Revlon Photo Ready Concealer [£6.99].

I love stick concealers, and this one is the best one I’ve ever used! It’s so smooth, and really works to reduce dark circles and cover spots. Usually you hear that you shouldn’t use stick concealers under your eyes as they are too thick, but I find this one works just fine! To get the best finish, I just use the pad of my ring finger and gently pat and smooth it in.

Once I’ve finished with my concealer, the next step is to set this with powder. I don’t usually wear foundation, as you will know from my other tutorials. I go straight in with my powder H&M Invisible Powder [£7.99] which doesn’t contain any colour pigments. It sets your base like silk, and works really hard at keeping shine at bay all day.

I don’t like to use coloured powders anymore, as I can never find a type that doesn’t change the colour of my base.

The next thing to do, is use blush. For the Peachy Summer Look, I use my peach toned one from GOSH Cosmetics. It’s genuinely the best blush I’ve ever used. It’s so subtle, and never looks harsh. The one I use for this look is called Shade 36 – Rose Whisper. I’m not sure why it’s called that, because it’s definitely peach/coral toned! GOSH are also cruelty free, which is a great reason to choose them 🙂 Get the blush here – GOSH Natural Blush [£7.99] to get that peach glow.

All About Eyes

Once your base is done, the next step is the eyes. When doing the peach look, I use this palette from Makeup Revolution, and use the light shades to create a fresh, bright eye. I only use one or two shades, and just blend them out. Mostly, I go for the two left-hand shadows. You can grab it here from Superdrug – Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette which is so cheap at £4.00!

Next, I just go in with mascara. I’ve been using this much talked-about one from Maybelline. It’s an oil blend, so it’s moisturising as well as intensely black. It builds up really nicely if you’re looking for a more dramatic effect. You can purchase it here from Superdrug online – Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara – it’s only £8.99. Read my comparison of mascaras here 🙂 Mascara Comparison; Save, Spend And Splurge!

Lips!

Once I’ve finished my eyes, I apply some lipstick. I love the matte ones from GOSH. With this look, I use a shade called 011 Nougat, which is a light nude/brown, and works perfectly against the peachy tones of this makeup.

You can also get this one from Superdrug here – GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick Matte in Nougat – it’s a bargain at £7.99!

And you’re done! I tend to wear my hair down with this look, and dress in white/black or navy, to compliment the peachy colours. Too much colour over-shadows the look and so it looks better if you follow the less is more rule!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my peach make up run-through. See  My Daily Routine: Shower to Ready To Leave The House for a full guide to my daily routine!
